Fashionotes - Crème de la Crème: Eye Cream Edition

If you’re anything like me, you are constantly on the go and in desperate need of a Starbucks Venti Americano every hour, of everyday. Sometimes it seems as though no amount of YSL Touche Eclat can hide my 9-5 and them some under eye bags, but there is a solution. It involves finding a really great under eye serum, cream, gel, or roll on and using it daily. Simply put, if you invest a little more in a worthwhile product and use it consistently, you can ditch your concealer and it will be the Venti Bold your peepers have been craving. Now, I usually share with you my new favourite product picks, but instead I am going to round out my top five; best results I’ve ever seen, swear by it, cult classic, miracle products.

1. Chantecaille Nano Gold Energizing Eye Serum, $210, chantecaille.com: What doesn’t this product do? It’s infused with Raspberries, Tomatoes, and Botanicals, and will produce collagen, reduce inflammation, and stimulate lymphatic drainage around your eyes.

2. Darphin Anti-Fatigue Smoothing Eye Gel, $38, darphin.com: This ultra-light texture is infused with walnut tree and caffeine and will soften and hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes.

3. La Mer The Eye Balm Intense, $165, cremedelamer.com: This groundbreaking treatment will keep your eyes looking ageless and refreshed.

4. Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets Flash Touch Wake-Up Eyecare, $44, sephora.com: The roll on pen application will easily target your eye contour area, and visibly reduce any signs of fatigue.

5. La Prairie White Caviar Illuminating Eye Cream, $350, laprairie.com: This sheer hydrating cream will target the darkness around the eyes, as well as brighten, and smooth fine lines, and puffiness.

A Fantastic Dog! — Spellcast Farm

The three new Saanen goats have been giving Gel a hard time.  They are pretty tough cookies and don’t think they should have to wait to be milked or move off Gel.

Gel has the patience of a saint.  He will bite on command, but if I am patient (which I rarely am), he can move elephants.

Last night, he was holding the gate while I milked.  Two of the three Saanens decided they were going to come out.  I asked Gel to put them back up.  The two of them put their heads down and gave him the evil eye.  Gel held his ground and stared them down with his Border Collie Eye.

Wally, who has the patience of a saint (he has to, he puts up with me) told me to tell him to bite them.  I told him that no, that would only make them fight more and we’d end up with a blood fest because they wouldn’t back down.  I told him to wait and let Gel do his job.  It only took a few more minutes, but Gel did do his job: he backed both of them back into the pasture.  Literally, he backed them in, they never turned and walked in.

I’ve been told that was a very good trait: that Gel has enough power and presence to stand head to head with livestock without gripping (biting) and that he was able to back them into the pasture was one little victory for him.  It’s going to take a lot more of this before these goats finally respect him and once they kid next year, the same thing will likely happen, but it’s so much better to let the dog do his job without using teeth.

We are very lucky to have such a fantastic dog.

Until later …

La Prairies New Advanced Marine Biology Eye Gel_138 | Cheap ...

La replica sunglasses for sale Prairies New Advanced Marine Biology crown hearts sunglasses replica Eye Gel

La Prairie just added three new solutions to their Advanced Marine Biology collection:
Advanced Marine Biology Revitalizing Emulsion (50 ml, $135 . it’s for face, eyes, and neck), Advanced Marine Biology Eye Gel (15 ml, $105), and Advanced Marine Biology Foaming Mousse Cleanser (125 ml, $65). I got a tiny packet of every single to try out, but by the time I ripped open the cream and cleanser only half ended carrera 5595 sunglasses for low price up on my face with the other half of the sea world goodness landing on my counter or stuck in the bag so, I cannot seriously attest to those (seriously these packets are the worst for testing out solutions!), but I can talk a great deal more about the eye gel.
I’ve been using the eye gel since I got a substantial sample about two weeks ago and it has a cooling/tinkling sensation when you dab it onto your skin, which is refreshing in the morning. It really is a marine-colored blue/green, which I am guessing ties into the algae, kelp and other sea plants put to use to formulate it. It does not leave me with an instant firming really feel, but the gel has a light, non-sticky consistency that leaves my below-eye area smooth. I often wake up with incredibly puffy eyes and they seem to swell-down quicker given that making use of this gel. I’ve also only been making use of it for two weeks so I picture following a longer period 1 would begin to see elevated firmness and a reduce in fine lines. Among the important ingredients in the eye gel are oat kernel oil and a red algae (for firmness and smoothness), buckwheat wax and caffeine (to lower puffiness), and green microalgae oligopeptide (to fight dark circles and spider veins).
Aside from the cooling sensation, my favorite issue about this eye gel may well just be that the bottle it comes in has a lock! It really is so uncommon for an eye gel to have a turn lock and it is useful not only for preventing little particles and other contaminants from coming into the product, but it makes it buy discount sunglasses so a lot simpler to pack when traveling! Miami here I come.with my eye gel:)

Melvita Cornflower floral water, Melvita Avocado Oil, Melvita Eye ...

Early last month, I was given a set of Melvita Eye Care for review, and I was very intrigued by the idea of using Avocado Oil around the eyes. Oil around the eyes, seriouslu?

Melvita DIY Eye Spa Set

The trio that works best together -you have: Cornflower floral water, avocado oil and eye contour gel. And preferably a gel eye pad like I have shown earlier :)

it’s also sold as a set at a promotional price of RM250.

Melvita Cornflower floral water

Cornflowers are known to be soothing and softening, and it’s also very gentle for the eye. It doesn’t smell as lovely as lavender or rose, but it has a very light natural ‘corny’ scent to it.

As the first step, you can soak your cotton pads with cornflower and let it rest on your eyes for 5-10 minutes. The result is even better if you top the cold eye gel pad on top.

Melvita Avocado Oil

Here comes the surprise – As a weekly massage, you can use the avocado oil! It’s usually dark green when it’s cold-pressed.

It may not be very appealing but it has so many beauty benefits! It’s lightweight and and penetrates into skin pretty quickly. As you can see from the picture, it is so light that it is runny!

As ironic as it may seem, avocado oil is actually good for reducing blemishes and also helps to repair damage skin. It also contains anti-aging properties. I was really skeptical initially but I was surprised that it’s absorbed into my eye area in no time, and you only need a tiny drop.

If you have pumped extra (which is likely to happen as it takes a while to get the hang on controlling), you can apply it on your neck and hair too!

Melvita Eye Contour Gel

Last but not least, if you are not used to using oil daily, you can use this eye contour gel. It’s supposed to reduce eyebags and shadows, but I have not seen any significant result of this with frequent as I don’t have serious problems with either. Well, maybe I will have really dark eyes if I had never used any eye gel! ;)

Overall Thoughts:

My favorite product of the eye spa kit is actually the avocado oil, because it is so versatile! It’s an all-rounder oil – on face, on eyes, on hair, on neck, you name it! Best of all, it is so affordable it’s only RM70/50ml. You only need very little each time, it might even turn rancid before you can actually use up the bottle! So, you can be generous using it on your hair or other body parts. As for the cornflower floral water, I don’t use it for eye spa daily but I like to use it as toner too :)

Price: Corn Flower Floral Water – RM91/200ml
Eye Contour Gel – RM137/15ml
Avocado Beauty Oil – RM70/50ml

Now, let’s learn some simple techniques that we can easily DIY and keep the puffy eyes at bay! I have tried it a couple of times, I find the methods are quite effective to de-puff my eyes. But of course, the effect didn’t last too long before it returned again :(

All the below techniques can be done with Melvita avocado oil.

dark circles

Puffy Eyes

crow feet
